If your cruise ship makes a stop in Marseille, you have several options to reach the city center, let's explore each one:

Booking a Tour with the Ship Most ships offer excursions to Marseille, either guided tours or self-guided. However, these options tend to be very expensive. A self-guided tour, which only includes round-trip bus transportation to the city center, costs €20 per person (depending on the cruise line). The good thing about taking the bus with the ship is that the waits are short since there are many buses.

Taking the Free Port Bus in Marseille You just have to follow the green line on the ground, which takes you to the free bus stop. The schedule is from 9:00 to 17:00 and only operates on cruise days. Its frequency is about every 20-30 minutes, so take precautions when taking the bus.

For us, this is the best option since it's fast and free. Keep in mind that there may be many people waiting for the same bus, so take your precautions and arrive early.
