Do you have an early morning flight and need to get to Gatwick Airport in the wee hours? Don't worry, the public transport system operates during those hours, and you can make it to your flight on time.

You can always opt for a taxi or Uber, but the cost of this can be quite high (more than 50 pounds).

From Central London to Gatwick Early in the Morning Using Public Transport

The option we used was the Thameslink train that departs from Blackfriars Station. There are different schedules, and we took the one at 2:40 AM since our flight was at 6 AM. Be sure to check the schedules carefully because during these hours, the frequency is low, with departures approximately once an hour.

The journey takes about 50 minutes and costs approximately 15 pounds. You can pay with your Oyster Card or contactless card.

Are you tired of paying bank commissions for currency exchange?
We present the perfect cards for you. Forget about annoying hidden fees when using different currencies than pound:

The train drops you off at the South Terminal of the airport, but if your flight departs from the North Terminal, the airport provides a train service that will take you there.
